Nagarhole National Park was previously known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park. It was renamed ‘Nagarahole’ because it means ‘Serpent River’ (Nagara=Serpent; Hole=River) in Kannada language. This covers around 547.981 Sq km including Mysore and Kodagu.
This forest / national park has wild animals like Tiger, Mouse deer, Four horned antelope, Leopard, Asiatic wild dog (Dhole)and Sloth bear, Asiatic Elephant, Gaur, Chital, Muntjac, Sambar, Wild pig and South-western langur.
Here some amazing landscapes and marvelous water streams that looks like a snake, mesmerizing the wildlife enthusiasts and the visitors stunnig looks with its natural beauty.

Tips Before your visit
- Follow guide instructions
- Do not litter or feed animals
- Carry sufficient water if you’re travelling in day time

- Take zoom lense 200mm or above
- Maintian silense in the park / forest area
- Wear neutral or earth tone clothes
- Carry hat, sunscreen, musquito repellent for protection against sun and mosquitoes
- Carry a valid ID proof. It is mandatory for entry in the park.
- October to may is the ideal time to visit nagarhole national park.
- Morning safaris start at 6:30 am and evening safaris at 3:30 pm. Be punctual.
