How to reach
The nearest city to this beautiful park is Coimbatore. The distance from Coimbatore to Silent valley is 132 kms. From Coimbatore you can reach Silent Valley by any cab.
If you’re coming by bus from Coimbatore you have to take Pallakkad bus. From Palakkad it is very near to reach Silent Valley.
Why it is called Silent Valley
The Britishers named this place silent valley because of missing sounds of the cicadas here.
Jeep Safari in Silent Valley National Park
The jeep safari starts morning at 8am and ends at 5pm. The phone booking ends at 1pm. Also you can directly visit and get a jeep before 3pm.
Jeep charges are Rs. 1800/- for a ride for (5 members). Many jeeps are availabe to hire.
- The entire safari takes 5 hours to complete.
- After 2 hours of drive you will reach watch tower. It is around 23 kms.
- While jeep ride you can see animals like lion tailed macaque, elephants, deers and more..
- After few kilometers of ride you will reach a spot where you will have facilities like canteen, washrooms, meusium and observation tower.
- After a few steps of walk you will reach 100 feet watch tower. From there you can see panoramic view of entire forest.
- There is a river you can go by walk. It is around 1.5kms. This is optional.
- Try Kerala’s Kattan Chai in the park. It feels amazing.
- Camping shed / Trekking / Camping programmes also available.

You can see 200 Year old jack fruit tree also here. When we enter the core park in the forest we won’t even able to see what’s beyond 50 meters. You can see little water flowing from the rocks around the places. Look at the potential of the flowing water. It is always pure there.
